Prior to founding Cardiopuls Medical Centre, Prof. Dr. Richard Kobza served as Chief of Cardiology and Head of Electrophysiology at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS) in Switzerland. During his nearly 20 years at LUKS, he established one of the largest electrophysiology departments in the country. His clinical focus includes the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, in particular catheter ablations and the implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).
In 2022, Prof. Kobza became president of the
Swiss Society of Cardiology after serving as a board member for six years. The organization has more than 750 members, including researchers and practitioners, all specializing in cardiovascular disease, and has a 75-year history of promoting the field. As an academic physician, Prof. Kobza has authored or co-authored approximately 200 peer-reviewed publications. In January 2021, he was appointed titular professor at the University of Zurich, where he teaches cardiology.
